AT advocating pot use?

This thread just keeps going and going. It's not a logical conversation about the pros and cons - or even if it should be legalized like the ATers like to bash to death...

so... if the mods just let this go, is that saying that pot use is acceptable on these forums?

nik nik, worry about keeping your composure and watching your foul langauge on the forums and let us worry about what is acceptable and what isn't.

It's about a bunch of big hookahs. I'm not sure I see the problem, or how it represents advocating pot use, especially since it's clearly noted in the thread that hookahs are traditionally used for flavored aromatic tobaccos, and not really marijuana.

Eh... I guess it doesn't matter that the conversation has degraded either, does it? Maybe I'm just so against illegal things that the slightest advocation of it sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Not only are hookas and shishas legal in the U.S., but pot is also legal in the Netherlands.

And just because it's illegal doesn't mean it's wrong or immoral. Didn't you just post something bragging about how you have a complete set of lawn darts? Don't get me wrong, I personally am not an advocate of marijuana (and maybe you're right and that thread should be locked -- I haven't read it past the point where it was this morning), but I am just taking issue with your black-and-white view of this matter.

I say live and let live. If there are groups of people that wish to discuss pot then let them discuss it. If you have a problem with pot you are welcome to speak your mind or stay out of a conversation you have no interest or knowledge of participating in.

Basically what I?m saying is change the channel.

If you don?t like it, then read threads that appeal to you.


No offence to anyone. But while most of us are having a beer this weekend, we shouldn?t judge anyone smoking a little pot.

It's not quite that cut-and-dried... there is a standing policy at AT to not allow discussion which encourages illegal activity. A thread on "where can I buy cocaine" certainly wouldn't be allowed. Neither would a thread on "easiest way to kill my neighbor's dog without my neighbor finding out it was me". Your policy of "live and let live" doesn't apply here, when it comes to blatantly illegal things.
