I just noticed that my memory is running at 4:5 ratio, so my FSB is 133mhz and the mem is running at 166mhz. My full system's in the sig, but to sum it up im running an nforce 2 mobo, which i know have issues with running memory async. Do you think it would be worth it to lower the mem speed to 133 mhz, or should i just keep it where it is?

They dont have issues just increased latency.

According to your specs you ar running at 200 Memory and 133 FSB. Not worth it to underclock just to run in sync. Yes running in sync helps but not if you have to underclock. Overclock your FSB to 166 unless you think you can safely make it to 200(400).

If you dont want to overclock simply sell that chip and get a mobile barton.

I didn't exactly mean issues when i said that, what i was trying to say was that i had heard that they ran noticably slower with async memory.

And sry, but my sig is actually wrong. I have a 256meg stick of pc2700 and a 256 stick of pc3200 memory, so they are both running at pc2700 speeds. I really should fix that .........

Im gunna upgrade to an A64 in about a month, so im not going to get a new Athlon xp. I don't really want to OC this chip, because its just got the stock cooler on it, and it is a very small cooler.

So would you recomend just leaving the mem at 166 or underclocking it to 133?

No i reccomend doing anything but underclocking it. Underclocking will not increase performance if anything it will decrease performance.

You chip should easily OC (maybe without a overvolting) to 166 FSB. You shouldn't increase the heat out put by much either. I say go for it as long as you are around ~52C you are fine.

I'll try lowering the multiplier and upping the FSB to 166 next time I get a chance ... see if thats stable. Thanks for the advice.

Edit: Which of the three prime95 torture test options would you recomend using to test the cpu as much as possible?
