Asustek takes a stab @ Northwood!!!

Yup. Its called the P4T-E. Its made by Asustek. And it will be available in September from what I understand... Check it here thanks to Kpocalypse...

Couldn't wait.......I went ahead and picked up a TH7II....... I'll probably have to try this too though.......sounds like a damned nice board and I have to say, my P4T was better than my TH7 with all the voltage problems it had......

Isn't it a bit premature to get one of these first boards when Northwood is nowhere in sight?

The Socket478 P4s which are being lauded all over (including a 2GHz part) are just Willamette core P4s in the mPGA package.

You are correct about popping in a Willamette now and a Northwood core later, but it is entirely possible that better solutions will arrive in the interim. Then again, that goes for all hardware these days. Things are outdated before you even receive them!

Not really, at the end of the month there will be at least 2GHz Willy S478 CPU's out there, and if not 1.8's and 1.9's also.

Yeah it is a 850 board with RIMM's, so yeah it's basically a S478 ver of P4T-F. I keep hearing 860, I thought It was allready out and it was the RDRAM chipset for Xeon's? Anybudy care to clarify?

P.S ToBeMe, fyi go here. Abit's gonna choose 20 owners of TH7II's to recieve a S478 CPU soon, just thought I'd let u know.

I860 is an RDRAM solution for the P4 Xeon, and have been out a couple months.

I have been patiently awaiting Asus release of a board for Northwood.. very tempting!
