I don't think it actually specifies the speed on the box. But even if they did, I still think it's misleading to sell it as a 9600 pro when it's actually slower than a standard spec 9600 pro. It's like if you bought an Athlon 64 2800+ "ez version" which only has half the L2 cache (wait.... isn't this called a sempron ? that is, clearly differentiating the models). And BTW, this was more than a year ago, and for a few months I actually believed it was a normal 9600 pro, I wasn't aware of the "EZ version" scam, and as far as I know this designation is not a legitimate standard designation, like the "pro", "se" or "xt" designations.

Bottom line: powercolor is a scumbag company, their cheap junk is not even worth it, because who knows what corners they're going to cut next. People, are you with me ? down with powercolor !

In fact it does clearly show 400/400 clock speeds on the box if you look at the pictures, second if you actually bought it at Newegg it also mentions the speeds in the description clearly. Myself I would have researched what the EZ meant before purchasing and made sure of the clock speeds. Theres definately too many variables when it comes to graphics cards, but you can't be sore cause you accidently ordering something that wasnt what you expect because of the lack of knowledge due to not researching it. Basic fact and lesson learned is be careful of item descriptions and names, if its questionable make some inquiries before jumping the gun and make sure you are ordering what you want.

Edit: Btw sempron isnt even comparible to athlon 64. Your reference would make more sense comparing a newcastle 512k to a clawhammer 1mb cache model. Not every company details whether or not it is a newcastle or clawhammer and while they can be both named a 3200+ they not only have the different cache but also different clock speeds. You can not fault the manufacturer for offering different options to the end user but either the reseller for not respresenting it properly or lacking a proper description. Bottom line I wouldnt purchase if I could not tell clearly what I was ordering and if it was what I wanted or not, never assume and always research.

Just remember this isn't extreme overpricing because it's the PCI Express version like CrazyGamer said. PCI Express is brand new technology and therefore will be more expensive than the regular AGP X800XT... still seems a tad overpriced though, just not by much....

Powercolor would be in the budget category, near the bottom

Powercolor is not a lower tier video card manufacturer.

DITTO, I love Powercolor
