Asus' Vanilla A7N8X-X differs in dual channel RAM also, correct?

:confused:The way that the BIOS on this MB refers to the Dual-Channel setup, seems to say that there might have been a way to get Dual Channel after all. The slots were all the same color, so I decided that where the two sticks went into it didn't make any difference. Maybe Asus just left that line in the Setup as a leftover from the better-equipped A7N8X's, to sneer at any penny-pinchers for getting the non-Deluxe version.

I wouldn't worry about it. Dual channel gains on AXP systems are very minimal. The A7N8X-X also uses a slightly modified nVidia chip which is the main reason why dual channel isn't supported. Lazy manual writers? Eh, probably :p

Ever since returning to the DIY fold, and collecting data about the second-line area I tend to work in (and so save against the high costs of the bleeding edge), I've been seeing that 2% to 5% gains of dual channel for NF2 as being minimal -- yesterday, I was doing some research on the Epox 8RDA that I'm putting into a system for a Grand-kid of mine, when I backtracked to some old articles here on AT.

According to the second of three that I read through, there were some areas in which the NF2 chipset got 25-30% bonuses from dual channel compared to single. The particular processes don't happen to involve any use I personally have for a PC, so I don't get to benefit from more than the well-publicized small improvements, but on my HTPC machine, which is also NF2 (Gigbyte MB), I have dual channel active, because what the heck, a 4% gain is better than no gain at all.
