ASUS TUA266

The TUA266 isn't really worth it. I know it's cheap....it IS stable, but it really is a very ordinary board. You are better off getting a TUSL2-C.
 
Thanks for the reply Andy...but the TUSL2-C is a lot more($35-50Cdn.) in my area, and I have a spare stick of Crucial DDR that I'd like to use. Come on TUA owners any known issues? How's the USB above 140?
 
The reason why very few people purchase the TUA266 is that because of the architecture of the Pentium III, combined with its lower speed system bus, it is unable to take advantage of the additional bandwidth offered by DDR SDRAM.

As such, DDR SDRAM offers no performance gains on a Pentium III platform: it will be the same speed as a standard SDRAM system.

In regard to the ALi Aladdin Pro 5T chipset, there are no real issues, apart from some problems with ATi Rage 128 and Radeon video cards. These issues were fixed with the latest ALi chipset AGP drivers.

I didn't say "don't get the TUA266"; simply that it is not my first choice. It's not a bad board, and fine if you don't expect too much from it. The onboard C-Media sound is passable, but an SBLive sounds better.
 
Andy(or anyone) do you know when the 1/4 divider kicks in on this board? Also does it allow voltage adjustment for Tualitins?
 
The 1/4 divider kicks in at 133MHz.

Both the TUA266 and the TUSL2 family of boards don't really implement the VCore adjustments properly. While it works, I don't really recommend going too far with it.
