Asus Tri-Fan 4870 X2

From those pictures, that design looks retarded. It has vents out the back, but the fans and heatsink fins are not even aligned to shoot it out the vent anyway... Seems retarded, IMO. Then again, I have only those two pictures to base this upon, but based on those two pics it looks like a POS design. Sticking to the two slot design would have been better, but increasing it to three slots, with a larger heatsink and a larger fan angled so the air is ejected out of the case.

Your evaluation is all wrong. Look closely and you'll see the sides are all open, it exausts into the case. The rear slot where the stock cooler would normally exaust is just, there..

Why would I want a hot card like that dumping air INTO my case? If that is their goal design, then remove the vented bracket and make it solid. Terrible design, IMO. If this were open case or open stand it would be great, but closing up the side panel the thing will become perpetually hotter unless you have a tornado case to eject the air out another way. Water cooling is the way to go if you are getting into three slot designs.

Agreed, I'd not choose it either. Many big cases with excellent airflow could accomodate it quite easily though. I just like the looks. The hovercraft of X2's... 🙂
