So I click on the Download tab and I get "An error occurred while processing your request." What is this? This is the biggest motherboard company and you cannot download their drivers? How long has their site been down? Has Asus really gotten so bad that you cannot download drivers when you need them? And no one even notices? I cant download drivers for any model I choose. I get an arrow when I click on the CPU support list also.

If a company like Asus cannot keep their support site up they do not deserve to be in business. I am glad the last 5 boards I bought were gigabyte. I have never had a problem like this when trying to download gigabyte drivers. This sort of crap enrages me. There is simply no excuse for their site to be down this long. I will never buy another asus product again. They are dead to me.

At least you can get that far. I just keep getting:

An error occurred while processing your request.

I just bought one of their Sound Cards to get off of the onbaord audio of my ASUS motherboard. It shipped with Vista drivers. -.-

I installed them anyway, and guess what! The Audio Control App that ASUS provides won't load! :D The drivers work, but I can't tweak anything on this card without that app. I tried going into Control Panel several times to change settings in the audio devices there, but every time I click OK to apply the changes, Control Panel freezes.

This is the second time this year I've experienced major issues with ASUS hardware. I've never tried calling their support because I hear nothing but "support sucks" about it so why bother? I was a die-hard ASUS believer for a long time, but this is the end. When they can't even provide a reliable place to host their support drivers, there's something terribly wrong. I don't know what internal changes they made that has made them this much suck over the last year or two, but I'm done wasting my money thinking "oh, it's just a fluke. they're still good". They're not still good. We have choices. I have choices.

ASUS. Never again. Ever. Deuces. -_-

I am also quite mad about this. I just set up my new computer and the system is having a hanging problem. I want to check the ASUS site for BIOS updates but I can't.

I suggest we all tweet @asus about this, maybe they will take notice.

I never saw the appeal of Asus even from 8 years ago. They make mobos and video cards that does the same thing as anyone else that ranges from slightly to grossly overpriced to the competition. But somehow it's the brand name everyone and their mother flock to.

Last time I checked their laptop/netbook business is also a huge mess...Why would anyone make 8 separate 14" models with the same i3/i5 + a weak 310M? And millions of different lines of Atom netbooks? Even their newest 1215B is plagued by touchpad problems.

I don't think I'd buy a computer, laptop, or video card from ASUS, but IMO, their boards have always been stable and have worked nearly flawlessly for me. I've never had a DOA ASUS motherboard...ever.

I've noticed some slowing of the ASUS support/downloads site over the past week or so. I often go there to d/l manuals for other people's boards to help troubleshoot their problems. It's often something simple that can be fixed if folks just RTFM.

Needed drivers for my sig laptop, took about 3 days and LOTS of f5'ing BUT i eventually managed (with lots of patience) to download all of the drivers. This was about 3 months ago and it has always been that way AFAIK.

For some reason Asus has always had a shoddy internet connection and/or server. It has been like this for the past decade.

Yup, I've had P3C2000, A7N8X, A8N-SLI Premium, P5Q Deluxe, M4A89GTD Pro/USB3, 2 x EAH4850's, and an EAH6870.

Never had any problems with any of them, well, no problems that weren't PEBCAK related anyway...but the support section of their website has *never* worked properly.

So, to answer the OP's question...years.

It's not just their website that is hopelessly screwed. I eventually did get the latest BIOS to download. But then when I ran their ezflash from inside the bios, I got some stupid error that's been unresolved for years. The only answer I could find is to flash using a different method. Ha! Yeah right, some answer. So I try the windows version of the bios flash tool. And yep, you guessed it, it crashed. The only surprise at this point is that the computer still boots. I am thoroughly disgusted that such an obviously worthless company could be so desirable to so many enthusiasts. Quite simply put, you people are fools and you have absolutely NO BUSINESS thinking you know jack about computer parts if you actually do business with asus. All these review sites recommend Asus crap and are constantly promoting Asus crap, yet I know from personal experience that Asus is garbage.

If you describe the BIOS error more thoroughly and politely we may be able to help you find a solution.

There is no solution. Except to never use Asus. The computer no longer boots because the program crashed in the middle of trying to update the bios. Obviously the replacement part will not be an asus. I dont know who actually built the computer that I'm working on, but they were no doubt a sucker who read this article http://www.anandtech.com/show/2068 ("ASUS P5NSLI: Core 2 Duo and SLI on a Budget") and thought they were making a very wise and informed purchase. They were mistaken. Thank you anandtech for misinforming thousands of readers and making computer geeks everywhere look awfully stupid.

I've had primarily ASUS mainboards since about 1995... no regrets really. The MSI and ECS boards I've had made ASUS's lousy support look positively fantastic.

The only real problem I've had with an ASUS board is my Striker Extreme not overclocking very well, but I've learned that the 680i chipset was just crap anyway.

Obviously you are upset that your motherboard bricked due to updating the BIOS. However, that is ALWAYS the risk you run regardless of the brand (unless it uses a Dual BIOS that actually works).
