As for the price, you can get one of several, officially rated "kick ass" (or equally rated) heatsinks from other companies (like thermalright) for LESS money. Look

here for more options. I'm about to install one of the SLK-948U heatsinks, once the new 90mm fan arrives (54CFM, 20-21 db) early in the week.
Also, that asus thing is not "around 600g" it's a hell of a lot closer to 700g for weight (680g to be exact). even the SLK-948u (which is a huge hunk of copper) isn't that heavy (635g without a fan) nor is the SP-120 (rated at 370g).
Personally, I've used a similar heatsink/fan to that before. I wasn't impressed with it, since it cooled the same with the fan at any speed. If you have a fan that spins at different rates, you would think that the slower speed would provide less cooling than the higher. Not so, which makes it pointless.
Also, I think asus is trying to get into too many sidelines with this product. They should stick with what they've proven they know (at least to other people, I've seen their crap and won't use it).
