Asus Socket 775 Motherboards?

I know all of the major motherboard makers are gearing up for their release of socket 775 boards on june 21st. Well, it's almost may now and i've haven't heard a thing about asus's product lineup. Anyone have any dish on asus's offerings? Names, features prices?

Is socket 775 for intel CPU's? Forgive me for hijacking your thread, but I had just recently heard mention of socket 775, but knew nothing about it. I know AMD has 940 and 754 and is planning to go to 939, so thats why I assumed it is intel based.

Socket 775 is Intel's Prescott successor - nicknamed "Tejas." It is written up by Anandtech:

I haven't heard much about LGA 775. Just that bit here on anandtech and a few pictures of mobos from tech shows.

Prescott is actually supposed to be the 1st generation LGA-775 chip. 3.4GHz is the end of the line for Socket-478 and Northwood.

When i updgrade to a pci mobo i will probably get a new processor.

This means i have to get new ram right? So i can either go intel or amd because i am just changing those 3 elements (cpu,mobo,ram) ? I have 2800 athlon now

939 and 775 will not come out at the same time. (unless its coincidence)

775 is the new pinless array for prescotts on the new Intel mobos (which were delayed).

939 is the increased pin count for higher clocked A-64s.

You will also need a new video card with PCI-Express X 16 instead of AGP.

Although im sure other chipset makers will make mobos with AGP and LGA775, afaik intel isnt one of them.

939 is for dual-channel A64s and allows for cheaper motherboards than 940 (4 vs. 6 layer).

Seems odd that with the supposed beginning of the transition to 939, 775, pcx, and DDR2 slated to happen in a month or two that we haven't seen any previews or even pre-production samples that weren't spied anywhere on the web. These seem like pretty big deals to me, and it would seem that manufacturers would at least want to get a little buzz going a month before the launch. This is unless the launch is only a paper launch which will serve to create the aforementioned buzz. I still have yet to see a P4 3.4E (or even a 3.2 for that matter) on sale anywhere, and this thing launched on Feb 1. I might be surpirsd though, ATI's website is talking like pcx is already available, and all we'll have to do when R423 comes out it pick one up and slap it into our mobo.

According to old roadmaps (the only ones that disclosed any specs), Tejas will be .065, strained silicon, 1200fsb, 2M L2, and 5ghz+.
