hi, i have been getting a blue screen (or death i guess), whitch i've never seen in 10 years of computing. I make it past boot up and have had problems with internet explorer freezing up. Also, when I finish playing a game (ut2k4) the screen goes blue with letters and numbers on it. Then the comp reboots back to windows.

any thoughts?(other than "that sucks")

my setup is as follows:

asus sli 3500+ 64
1 gig corsair
160gb ide drive
chaintech 6600gt
antec 550w esp12v psu
antec case
Windows professional

You may want to turn off automatic system recovery so you can see what message appears.

Blue screens are usually related to memory problems. I would run memtest86+ or just relax your memory configuration and see if the problem goes away.

Also, are you overclocking?

You can set the memory timings in bios under Advanced Settings/CPU configuration/DDR Settings.

This board seems to detect and set the default voltage too low for many RAM's. It originally set my OCZ to 2.60v when OCZ states the stock voltage to be 2.75v. So before you start changing your timings, check what the stock voltage should be from the manufacturers specifications and up the volts in bios accordingly. If your Corsair has the Samsung TCCD chips like my OCZ it should be 2.75.

And like ChineseDemocracyGNR said, download memtest and use this to check the stability of your RAM.

Im having the same problems. I have set all the Memory Bios setings to Auto. I have run memtest for hours and not received any errors, same with Prime 95 and Superpi...re-installed windows and updated to SP 1 which seemed to help a little.

I was a bit skeptical to try the SP2.

Any other ideas anyone has would be appreciated

Wish I can help you, but my system is 100% stable on everything except UT2004 I get the blue screen also most the times when exiting the game. Only seems to do it when playing multiplayer. Ok with single player.
