ASUS SLI and Chaintech nForce4 MB in STOCK!

$259 at newegg VS $315 at Monarch. And you have to build a system with monarch, i dont think they will sell just the board.

Whats the big deal about the nForce4. What improvements/features have they made over the nForce3?

Edit: Other than PCI-Express

😛 Any performance improvement over the nForce3? I'm just asking if it's worth upgrading at all.

Reason I ask is my wife got me a new computer for christmas and the mobo is a K8N N2 Plat. I was also going to get an x800 pro/6800GT but decided to hold off till the x850's and such come out.

If you order from Monarch then you get a free Farcry, Half Life 2, and 4 month subscription to Napster.

For $319 they better give you some crap. I don't see that anywhere though? I know they give you that stuff if you build a system combo, but not just the motherboard.

The Chaintech is crap compared to the Gigabyte Nforce 4 Ultra... The real question is when the Gigabyte board is coming out...

I found out this morning that Nforce4 non-sli is out. Any idea how much the gigabyte or msi boards will be?

The chaintech is perfect for those who just wanna take advantage of PCIE for its cheaper prices(atleast some cards) and futureproof. It doesn't have SLI which IMHO is over-rated and limited to those who want to have little performance gains at the absolute highest settings for wallet burning price, although I'm not against it. Its cheap, almost makes me wish I hadn't bought my PC when I did.

And you are basing that off what review ??

i still can't understand why people are willing to shell out $1500 to build a computer so he can play HL2 faster. so basically you're paying $1500 to play HL2/D3/whatever

NF4 SLI blows....its only for Nvidia cards 🙂 /me is getting a X850XT PE and later a R520... /me laughs at people with two 6600GTs because of "SLI" 🙂

and that from the mouth of someone with already 2660 posts on a geek forum 🙂

I'm basing that off of the features

Hate to break it to you. But the features are the same. Gigabyte will probably include extra usb connectors, and maybe a free wifi card, but that's it.

If you are basing it off that instead of performance, I feel sorry for you.

If that Chaintech NF4 is anything like their NF3 board, they're going to have a big winner on their hand.
