Asus Revolution vs. Gigabyte UD5 vs. EVGA x58

I'm looking to get a premium mb to mate with my 920 I got onsale at microcenter. I am really torn between the two. I understand neither has perfect bios atm.

I really want to like the revolution with its workstation/server "stability" and removal of legacy ports and addition of N200. I don't want to end up with a "lemon" however.

Are the fears of a lemon justified? Is the N200 worth it?

Or should I stick with the UD5?

I want to get the revolution, but my gut says its safer to stick with the UD5.

Then a little voice wonders if I should wait for the EVGA classified...but $450 clams is awful steep...

Thanks in advance for any advice. This is the last piece needed for me to complete my build...
 
I know how you feel as I also want the nf200 on whatever mb I go with when I move to 1366 sometime later this year. Early adopters always pay a premium for new hardware but if you wait a little bit the prices should moderate as more boards appear.
 
I am thinking of getting the UD5, though the Revolution did look awesome, just that the Vcore bug looked like a big bummer for OCing. I like the UD5, just wondering how it OC's compared to the other good board like the EVGA one. I also like the 10 Sata Ports, and that the PCIe x4 is available even when using 3 way SLI(for a sound card or RAID card or w/e)
 
I think i'm gonna sit on my hands chewing my nails day by day until we get some more definitive side by side comparisons. Let me know what u decide. I want to pull trigger but feel I don't have enuff info yet!

Now i'm thinking about the evga (non-classified) board as it seems to have very good reviews...between its history of excellent customer service and great newegg reviews.

So now i'm thinking in order:

1. evga board
2. asus revolution
3. gigabyte ud5

Almost ready to pull trigger...someone stop me or push me over the edge!
 
I recomended my dad get the EVGA board for his build, seems to be the one with best support and least hassle. Also a great over clocker, and some good features(though not quite as plentiful and rich as the other 2).

So if you want a good low trouble board, I would recomend the evga. For neat features, and awesome specs, the Revolution. The UD5 I would say is the midground.
 
For as much as the revolution costs you'd think that it would have more than just 6 sata ports. Those other two are sas not sata so only 6 onboard sata. That add on diagnostic card sits low on the mb next to the front panel connector so wires are sure to hinder its view. I think that waiting is the best thing to do right now. I'm not entirely happy with evga and it's mb support. I've been using their 780i ftw mb since my striker died and they won't even release a bios update for it even though it's been requested and they know it has problems with certain pci-e cards. Plus their classified is $450 so they can forget selling me that one.
 
I agree with the $450 board being out. Unless it is undisputably the one to get and worth it, i'm not paying the premium just for bragging rights.

They do seem to be very responsive to bios updates to the current x58 board with what seems to be the best bios support among the 3 listed. I think asus has only the original bios (but its the newest board). The gigabyte has 2 bios, both with problems. I think the evga has had several bios updates...

I'm with shmee with his breakdown of the boards. It's just how u compare a feature rich mb to a hasslefree mb. My heart wants the features, but my brain says the hasslefree.

I have sort of pushed the gigabyte down my list but am still deciding between evga and asus...
 
Wow...very pithy loller! At least someone is rooting for the asus board...any comments about it? Experience with it? I'm a little leery cause there's not much experience with it yet.
 
Well, the UD5 actually has many updates, (many betas) which can be found at http://forums.tweaktown.com/f6...yte-latest-bios-28441/

newest version is F5d, which is not available from the manufacturer site. Seems different bios's will be good for different people, so it may require some flashing and tweaking.

Oh, and keep in mind that SAS is backwards compatible to SATA.
