what is the advantage of the ASUS rampage other ~$200 MBs with two pci-e 2.0 x16 slots?

im running q9550 & 4750 (might cf in future)
 
If your going to CF its the board you want...and yes the two PCIe is a price factor, it's just like buying a 680i 790i etc...then there are other things like OCing capability and the 1600FSB also little things like 2xLan ports, extra things you wont find in a vanilla board.

He is asking if the rampage is better than other x38/x48 boards for crossfire. The answer is no. All x38/x48 boards have 2 pci express x16 2.0 slots. The difference would be the extras the boards have like extra lan, firewire, bios, ect. What res are you playing at? You might get away with a p45 board if you game at or below 1920 x 1080 with little to no penalty. Heres a link for x48 vs p45:
