Anyone have thoughts about this board? I just ordered a 3930k yesterday and I can't seem to pull the trigger on a mobo. I've always had good luck with Asus boards and I plan on getting a Corsair H100 and overclocking the hell out of the chip. I've read enough reviews to make my head spin and the ASRock Extreme 9 seems to have a lot of good reviews but some sites like HardOCP don't seem to think it is reliable. I know this has been asked many times on this forum but I'm looking at the following and I just can't decide on which one, I want a mobo that is going to last a few years with this chip.

ASUS Rampage IV Formula
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
ASUS Sabertooth X79
ASRock X79 Extreme9

Build
3930k
Some Mobo
Gskill Ripjaws X 16GB
Intel 520 SSD
Corsair H100
2x GTX 570s
Asus Xonar

Haven't used it myself, but I think if you are going to spend the money for a formula, might as well spend another $50 and get the extreme. Just imo.

The R4E is amazing in my experiences with it. The only thing it could use is active cooling over the VRMs, as using any LLC settings above medium or very high overclocks cause the VRMs to get very hot and they can throttle your CPU overclock. That is a problem with all X79 boards though.

I went with the rampage bf3 edition.

3930k @ 4.8ghz 4.9 just did not want to be stable.

The last 5 boards I have own have all been ROF boards so I am happy with them thats why I keep buying them.

I agree it isn't much more money but its a few more bucks I can put somewhere else. Plus I'm not interested in the OC Key and the Formula comes with nicer on board audio.

I just don't want to be an early adopter to something that ends up being not that great.

If it really is pretty much the same board with less DIMM slots and no OC Key then it should have similar performance but I just want to make sure before I put down the cash.

Well, I got everything together and up and running and I have to say I'm very happy with the CPU and Rampage IV Formula. My 3930k overclocked to 4.5Ghz without a single problem and I'm sure I could push it further but I don't see a need to right now. The board layout is great, the onboard sound is much better than I expected, and the bios and tools are awesome. My previous build was a few years old and this bios just seems leap years ahead of what I was used to.

The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is the noise level of the H100, I'm thinking about swapping out the stock fans for something better. I also want to see if I can lower the voltage a bit, just need some time to find the right spot.
