ASUS Problem

I pick'd up a geforce3 ti200 deluxe at a local comp show last weekend.

Anyways when I put it in my system It'll boot up with it but the display is corrupt.....In bios and winXP.....Looks like three or four bands on misplaced, blotched pixels.

So what you think bad card....Mem? Not enough power? Have 300 watt antec....But only has 14a on 3.3volt rail....Running XP1600+

Thanks,
Kenmitch

yeah, could be your power supply, i was getting on fine with a 300w with my asus a7v133a/athlon1400/geforce 3 but when i changed my motherboard the power supply just shut down, i even downgraded my graphics card to a geforce 2 gts pro but still just the motherboard upgrade needed more juice.

i have the same athlon now and am using a radeon 8500 (sort of, i mean it wont play game, keeps crashing etc, but that's cause of the infinite loop bug so nothing related🙂 and now i have an epox kt266a motherboard with a 350watt power supply, it seems to be fine at the moment, could be safer going with a 400watt if i were you though, just to be on the safe side.
however it would be better to check the graphics card in someone else's machine beforehand in case you just spend money on something you dont need, unless you can take it back, no quibbles 🙂

the prices dont seem to be that much different either untill you hit the 500watt power supply's

hope this helps 🙂
