Asus Pc Probe has alerted me a couple times these last days (just got my new Athlon 1,13 ghz nad Asus A7A 266 motherboard). The temp. monitor goes steady at about 43 degrees (im going to buy a taisol heatsink soon) and then goes to a peak above 100, falling to 43 again in a second or two. As the fan monitor goes steady I don't think this can be a real alert, I mean hey 100 degrees... But still quite anoying.
Anyone having the same problem?

try disabeling the smart fan control.

i had those spikes (on a P3V4X) and a bios update fixed them...

Yes I'm using the latest version, and havn't enabled the smart fan control.
But i'm not that found of the program, do you think I should change to, what's the name, motherboard monitor?
Having problems with windown ME too, sometimes it just hangs at the startup when the scandisk should go, if there was a problem, I dont mean that it only happends when Windows tries to start scandisk. But, I'm wating for my IBD deskstar to arive, then it's goodbye old seagate.

Just got myself a new alert, this time the Probe told me that the 12+ voltage had gone to 8+ and a couple of seconds later it was back to normal. I checked the other monitors ans saw a dissturbance in the CPU fan monitor a couple of minutes ago.
Ok, its time to change to something else, WHAT?

that temp spike happened once to me a couple of days ago. the temp goes from 38 to 90 then to 38 2 seconds later. My Heatsink was still cool, dont think nothing of it,

if you really are bothered get rid of pc probe and use mbm or something

As long as the system is stable you shouldn't worry too much. Your temp is not too bad as well.
