ASUS P8Z68-V Pro: ROM update problem, "not EFI BIOS"

I downloaded the v606 BIOS and am getting a message that the file "is not a EFI BIOS" when I try to update with EZ. Any suggestions or insights as to what is wrong?

Format a USB stick Fat32
rename bios file to ASUS0606.rom (8 letters)
Place .rom on stick by itself in root - no folder - naked.
