ASUS P6T Deluxe - bootable from SAS hard drive?

question:
anyone whom owns a asus p6t deluxe (x58) ever use a SAS drive as the primary boot drive? under the boot tab w/in the bios it only seems to allow me to select a SATA drive / CD-ROM / USB drive / 3.5 floppy. oddly though the hardware manager in the biod shows the drive as there. (note: have flashed the bios to the latest version available on asus' website.)

yes you can boot from hard drive as long as the intel raid controller is set to IDE mode. if Intel raid controller is set to RAID or AHCI then you cannot boot from SAS.
