Asus P5Q Deluxe loves what memory?

May be getting this MB. With my old rig, listed below, I have 4 gig of Corsair XMS2 6400c4 (4-4-4-12).

Should I stick w/ that memory or get something faster or more stable w/ this particular MB? And if yes, then what specific memory do you recommend?

I will OC... moderately...or maybe more & more....

Thx...

I'd stick with it and try it first, then if you have problems buy some new memory. I've got 4 gig of crucial ballistix in my p5q pro and its rock solid at 4-4-4-12 2 volts

That Crucial memory is basically the same as mine...right?

I had read in a few places that this MB is a bit picky about the memory...

So, it's not as if the memory I have is going to hold down the performance potential of the P5Q?

( I may also be replacing the 8800GTS with a nVidia GTX260...)

I have run Crucial, Mushkin and G.Skill memory in my P5Q Pro without any issues (up to 4x2GB of the Mushkin).

The only DDR2 memory I actively avoid is OCZ because of issues I've personally had with two different sets of sticks (2x1GB Gold would only boot in 2 of 9 mobos even with tweaking, 2x2GB SLI booted in one mobo but not another).

If your RAM is working in a P5B-D (a board i'd consider much harder to achieve RAM stability on), i'm pretty sure you're going to be fine on the P5Q-D.

I've run G.Skill ddr2 1000 2x2gb kit/ G.Skill HZ pc6400 2x1gb kit/ Cellshock PC8000 4-4-4-12 2x1gb kit and now the OCZ PC2-1150 2x2gb kit in my sig all flawlessly on my board.

The board seems to be pretty compatible as to ram at least from what I have seen.
