Asus P5K-E + compatible memory

I ordered an Asus P5K-E P35 Wifi/ap mobo and 2 sticks of Crucial DDR2-8500 RAM, but the RAM is on backorder, and I received everything I need to build a PC, except for the RAM.

My question is, will the old DDR-2100 memory sticks I have run on this mobo?

If so, I might set it up using this old RAM until I receive the new sticks.

Thanks

No... you definitely need DDR2. The DDR won't even fit in the slots. Sorry...

I'd cancel that back ordered RAM and re-order some other from Newegg. They seldom back order.
