<FONT face=Verdana>Right Now I am running a P4 1.6A @ 2.4 Gig on a Asus P4S333 mobo using high performance Pc 2700 Mushkin RAM and quite frankly I am not impressed with the memory performance. I was reading one of your posts regarding Rambus performance and also you suggested using the Abit TH7II or the Asus P4T-E New Rev.

With the boards will I be able to independently O/C the FSB and the Rambus so I can get Insane O/C speed with my 1.6A Northwood. Will The Rambus?

I need to be able to Run at least 150 Mhz and also keep my new rambus happy 🙂

Also what is the Best Rambus to buy to overclock?

If you're really lucky, you might get some RDRAM that can handle 4 x 150MHz. But if not, there's a setting in the BIOS (at least for the TH7II) where you can set the memory timing to 3 x FSB.

The ASUS P4T-E also allows you to switch the memory multiplier from 4x to 3x.
 
You should just wait for the 533 mghz boards that are coming out that will natively support pc1066 rambus. They will be out in a month or so. That way you don't have to worry about what clock generators are on the mobo (P4T-E).
 
Actually, the boards coming out soon are not supposed to natively support PC1066. The FSB is at 533MHz, but the RDRAM speed is still supposed to be PC800.

ausm, check my post about p4 enthusiasts...both Jumpem and I purchased ATACOM's P4T-E new revision with RDRAM Turbo and new ICS clock generators and samsung original 16bit low density....they gauruntee it too...

Andy, are you sure about that last statement?
 
I could of sworn that the new mobos are backward compatible for pc 800 but are supposed to take pc1066 rdram am I wrong?

Sorry...I was doing some programming for someone and then went off to take a shower.

Everything that I have seen lately indicates that the FSB is 533MHz, but the RDRAM will remain at PC800 levels by using the 3x multiplier on the i850E chipset.

Reason being that PC1066 is still to expensive and not quite ready for prime time.

That doesn't rule out that better companies like ASUS and Abit are still going to offer the 4x RDRAM multiplier at 133/533MHz FSB.
 
I'm almost sure that ASUS will have a board out that supports RIMM4200, which is the dual channel PC1066 on a single chip. I'm fairly certain we will be able to find PC1066 boards along with the 533MHz FSB parts. The boards should support it, but it may take a while for the memory to trickel into the market.

I am running 1.6a at 2.4ghz (150fsb/3x RDRAM) on Th7-2. P4T-e also looks good but very expensive to get the ICS clockgens. On the other hand, almost all new th7-2s come with ICS.
