Can anyone explain the difference between the 34 C from the bios and the 55 C reported by ASUS PC probe utility for my boxed 1,5Ghz P4?? I guess the mobo implements reading from the cpu's internal thermal diode though it's not clearly stated in the manual, so is this the reason for the huge gap?
And why are 2 HW monitor chipsets on board? The well-known Winbond plus the "ASUS onboard chipset"? Do they read temperatures from different sources explaining the pre-stated difference?
Thanx to all!

Often the bios temp is lower because there is zero load on your cpu, so it will be close to room temp. Even the process of booting up is enough to get it warmed up. EIther way, both are fine temps for your cpu. As for your other question, I haven't a clue!
