BMW330ci

Senior member
I've been waiting for this motherboard for a few weeks now and it has finally arrived. GoogleGear.COM has it in-stock for $114.99 and Ajump.COM has it for $115

Pentium 4 533Mhz Bus Support
DDR PC2700 333MHz Support
Built in C-Media CM18738 6-channel audio
Built in LAN!
ATA/133

Enjoy!

From the product description:

"which utilize the most advanced 0.13um process technology to provide frequencies up to 2.2GHz"

Does that mean the new P4's will only go up to 2.2GHz?

what's the difference between this motherboard and the Asus p4s333 for processors out right now? (without the 533mhz, just the 400mhz)

I'm sure it will utilize the P4 2.4GHz or higher just with a BIOS update.

upgrade nation got for $118 and $5 fedex shpping! i think thats the best deal! Text

There isn't anything good said about <Upgrade Nation>at ResellersRatings.com.I would look for a more reputable vendor.I am hoping that NewEgg gets this motherboard in stock soon.

That's what I've been wondering. I've got the P4s333 and I've got the FSB set to 133. Isn't that the exact same as if I had that board?

dude upgrade nation is a Top Service company rated by yahoo. i have bought alot stuff from them. they are good from what i had with them.

i have the P4S333 and its been great! i kinda want this board but im sure its not worth the hassle to try to dump my 333 then get the 533. anyone has any benchmarks/stats on the P4S333 vs the P4S533??????

<< Is this m/b usb 2.0. just checked the asus web site and did not see it there. >>

I don't think so.
I got this from http://www.sis.com/products/chipsets/oa/pentium4/645dx.htm

"The integrated Universal Serial Bus Host Controllers features Dual Independent OHCI Compliant Host controllers with six USB ports delivering 2 x 12 Mb/s bandwidth and rich connectivity. Besides, each port can be optionally configured as the wake-up source. Legacy USB devices as well as over current detection are also implemented."

Hope this helps

I have a question about this mobo. Will it use the current P4 processors? It says "Socket 478 for FC-PGA2 ". I want to get the 1.6A Northwood to pair w/ this. Will that work or will there be a new PGA for this mobo? Thanks

No, you have ATA100 onboard while the new one is ATA133. Other than that it's the same, the older one supports 533 but the new one makes it Officially Supports 533. Hope this helps.

Hmmm. I'm not that worried about the ATA100 vs. 133. Thanks for the info!

What's the deal with the product description?

"Intel® Socket 478 Pentium® 4 processor support up to 2.4GHz and beyond."

"The latest P4S533 motherboard supports Socket 478 Intel® P4 processors, which utilize the most advanced 0.13um process technology to provide frequencies up to 2.2GHz, delivering robust features and performance for your digital world."

Which is it?

Yes this mobo will allow you to use the 1.6A cpu that you have. All thats new is a new SIS chipset which will support the new 533fsb chips from intel. There is no USB 2.0 support.

I just ordered via google gear -- It looked like upgrade nation had the board w/o the integrated LAN which may explain the price difference.

I'm plopping a 1.6A, 512Meg of Samsung PC2700 into it -- still looking at Video cards (considering the ATI AIW 8500 128M via the ATI tradeup program ($260).

If you read the specs on the upgrade nation, its the same exact specs from the asus website . they basically cut and pasted it.

NICE ! ! This looks like the mobo for me. What was that

<< There is no USB 2.0 support. >>

? Hope it does, I want to get a PCI card w/ USB 2.0 & firewire. Also dont for get to look at the Ti4200 that will be out soon. 🙂
