Hello,

I just "upgraded" to a Asus motherboard after years with Intel and Dell platforms.

Could it that this MB needs very good cooling? I had it working for about 2 month then the south bridge burned (a black smack in the middle). I got a new MB (didn't pay) and that one burned again after 2 days of work.
I got a third one installed this time with 2 big fans front and rear, a fan on the 3Ghz processor and a new video card with a fan as well.

Now that everything is looking cool and working again I have attached my relatively old Palm with a USB 1 connector to the USB 2 and after pressing the Synch button, BAMM. the computer crashes and restarts. Sometimes I get the blue screen of death.

I went and got a old USB 1 pci card and for now it looks like it's doing the work.

NOW. is this the famous ASUS? Could I have just fallen on a bad serous of boards?

if you read by this line so thanks. I would love to hear anyone having a good or bad time with this mobo before I get a deferent board.

Wow, this is news to me. Let me see if I can burn mine out.

J/K of course. I have the board but I haven't plugged anything USB into it yet. Now I'm scared to.
