I have an Asus Via chipset P3V4X Motherboard. The problem I am having is with the motherboard's temperature sensors. I have a PIII 650 FCPGA on an Iwill slotket hooked up to the motherboard. The sensors are usually working fine, giving me a CPU temp of 45C and a case temp of 35C. The problem is that randomly the temperatures for motherboard and CPU will spike to some insane impossible number (such as 195C) for a very short period of time. The problem occurs less if I use Motherboard Monitor 5, but it still occurs. I use Motherboard Monitor with Shutdown Now. It false alarms oftenly and shuts down my computer often to the point where I have to turn Motherboard Monitor's alarm settings off. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this and how they fixed it. Also, I am looking for a hardware solution on monitoring. I know about the Digital Doc 3, but I was looking for something that can hook up to the Digital Doc 3 to shut down the computer in case of overheating. What I need is something that can get a overheat signal from the digital doc 3, and then short the power on connecter on the motherboard.
