I have a P3B-F board which I am happy with and replaceing an 810 based board I am not happy with.

With a price differential that is too high the 815 boards are out and Via is in.

Doesnt make difference if it is Slot 1 or Socket 370. Must be Asus as they have always trewated me well.

Therefore what subtle differences are there between the Slot 1 P3V4X and the Socket 370 CUV4X.

Which is more stable, are driver issues different etc?

Thank you

Although both are good, I prefer the P3V4X....an extra DIMM slot makes the difference for me.

yup, you are right andyhui :) p3v4x have 4 slot dimm, cuv4x only have 3 dimm, but i dont know why cuv4x more expensive than p3v4x, may be it's a latest mobo so make it more expensive :)

FYI: Cuv4x with a Celeron(2) is a nono. Still various issue that Asus has yet to resolve, and probably never will.

What do you mean by never will? If the problem is BIOS related, ASUS will fix it....eventually, even if they do take a few BIOS revisions to get it right.

So the CUV4X--as well as the CUBX--has issues with the new Celeron, eh?

Have there been reports of problems with the new Celeron and the P3V4X?

Thanks Guys for the feed back.

It seems all boards have an issue of one sort or another. I guess you must decide what you want it for and go from there. All the boards I have ever owned have an issue at up grade time and need to be flicked off.

It seems the boards are largely the same although Shoman indicates the CUV4X has a 686X Southbridge. What difference does that make Shoman?

On that score the P3V4X has increased flexibility of a Slot 1 ie can use a slocket for Socket 370 proccessor and it is cheaper. On that note I will order the Slot 1 board

Again thanks Guys

The P3V4X has some additional BIOS features and extra DIMM, but I went with the CuV4X to avoid using a slotket.
