ASUS P2B-VT & USB Problems

Ok, I have an ASUS P2B-VT; it's a motherboard mass produced by ASUS for Hewlett Packard. However, it does have the following:
  • Genuine Intel 440BX Chipset
  • 1AGP 4 PCI 1 ISA
  • 2 USB 1 Serial 1 Printer Port
  • 384MB PC-100/66 MAX

So, now the problem comes in. I can not use my Microsoft Natural Keyboard Professional or my Intellimouse Optical via the USB ports on the motherboard. When I plug the mouse into the keyboard via the hub - it still does not work. I can use the USB port and my digital camera work's (Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart 315).

So now, I need to find some "generic" or "basic" Intel 440BX Chipset drivers so I can see if it work's OR someone needs to suggest something; and yes - I do have Legacy Support enabled in my BIOS.

It seems as when I launch the setup utility, it says the followin in a prompt: "The Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility requires a supported chipset platform running on a supported operating system."

Windows XP already has full drivers for the BX chipset, so those that I linked for you are kind of redundant.

All I can suggest at this point is a BIOS upgrade. However, since ASUS does not provide support for OEM boards, I can't really help you regard that. The best I can provide you with is one BIOS Update from reseller, Centrix.

I have no idea what version that update is though.

They may have support, but XP won't work with the mouse or the keyboard. However, they work for other devices. When I used the restore disc before hand they did on powered devices (like keyboards and mouse).
