Asus or Soltek for 939 board?

I know the Asus a8v will perform well, stable, and probably nothing flashy - but how about the Soltek board? I have seen benchmarks showing it to be the fastest *stock* 939 via board available, it seems to have a working agp/pci lock now, and will OC all that I want a board to OC, is mucho more colorful than the asus...but I have never owned a Soltek before.

I hesistate because my last system ran gigabyte mb & video card...and lets just say both have suffered many unfixable hardware problems without any overclocking. I will never buy gigabyte again, I guess I don't want to buy a Soltek and have the same thing happen ya know?

Main points I guess are which has the better onboard LAN (as I will use that for my dsl) and does anyone know if a Zalman cnps7000-alcu will fit on the Soltek? Its not listed on their sheet, but it looks like there would be no problem...

Soltek makes good motherboards, but their customer support is minimal. I wrote them asking about direct rma's, and got no reply off their taiwan website.

I chanced it with the soltek this time around too. Got the exact board you're thinking about getting. It's great. Board performs well. I've never owned a soltek before, and have only had this one a week maybe, but it's good so far.

Hummm has anyone got proof that DFI will make a s939 board using the NF4 chipset BUT with AGP? Heck even a s939 NF3 with AGP from DFI...

Soltek mobos rule.... if they keep it up they will be the next Asus! their products are all awesome, rarely ever any complaints.

I have a K8AN2E-GR and I love it.. it's my 4th Soltek mainboard 🙂

The Soltek board is faster at stock speeds, but the ASUS is generally a better overclocker. boatillo, it's unclear if DFI will make an NF3 board but it's not looking good right now. 🙁
