ASUS or MSI

Currently I'm running ASUS's P4B motherboard and video card (V8460 Ultra Deluxe) in my main box. I am planning to build another box in the fall, however I'm not sure if I should switch over to MSI for the motherboard and graphics card. I've read good things about both product lines from this company but any additional input is welcome. Since this new system won't be assembled until October/November it gives me time to read more reviews as well, especially those pertaining to the recently released 875P chipset. Thanks in advance!

If you won't be building until October/November, why not just wait and see what new hardware comes out? What's the point of this preemptive research when we know that new motherboards will come out?

I'd wait until a couple of weeks before the building process to actually decide what to buy.

Err, I'd suggest to wait until the motherboards come out before blindly deciding to go with a brand.

HOWEVER...I'd go with the MSI video card. Asus video cards tend to be overpriced and carry the same features as MSI ones, sometimes even less.

Heres what I have to offer:

I have owned both MSI and ASUS mobos and video cards. MSI motherboards, IMO, run slower than others. I would get an ASUS mobo to steer away from any future problems you may encounter. I have never owned a bad ASUS mobo (had 3 of them), and owned 1 bad MSI board (the only one I ever bought).

For vid cards, however, if you want a good, stable, vid card that you can overclock, buy and ASUS. If you want a good , stable vid card that you can overclock more than most brands, get an MSI.

I currently do not own an ASUS mobo (wanted to try SOYO....nice, very nice), but do own an MSI vid card (Ti4200). No prblem with either thus far.

ASUS, only had one marginal motherboard from them (ALI chipset), but both of the MSI boards I have had sucked.

Oh, Asus has had its share of duds, but MSI seems to always have duds. I've owned both. Asus is good, not my particular favorite (dont have one), but I will sill buy their boards. I wont buy MSI.
