Gigabyte....coz its better by 10 dollars less.

Both boards don't have controllers for sata 2 hd's that you mentioned.
Your best bet for 754 is nforce4 or uli 1697 to have sata 2.

ASUS is the best mobo company imho. The Gigabyte is $10 cheaper though, either will do, though neither are great.

As someone already mentioned, no SATA2 support.

IMHO and experience, Asus has some fast mobo but Gigabyte has the stability. Now I am not saying Asus are not stable but everytime I use a Gigabyte mobo I never had to tweak anything and usually works the first time up. Asus mobo most of the time requires either an updated bios first or tweaking to make it stable. And as soon as it is stable it rans faster.

In the last 2 years I've built two rigs with gigabyte boards, two with asus, and both have been great. Maybe go for whats cheaper if no other criteria come to mind.

I have been using a Gigabyte mobo for the last 2.5 years and is has never failed me. Only problem was the annoying fact that you have to use F6 to load SATA drivers when you install windows.

Both are good brands.
