Maybe they hired the same firm to design their website? Pretty funny if you ask me.

Maybe they should hire you! Good catch, the cooler is a different one but everything else is very similar!

That's actually pretty funny. On another note, How can all of those heatpipes possibly touch the die?

EDIT: Wait... WHY is it compared to a reference 290X? What the fudge?

Makes no sense comparing it to 290x reference design....Other than it increases the percentages making it look better I guess.

It helps keep NV's PR FUD campaign going that "most R9 290Xs" run hot and loud. I agree that Asus should have compared it to the best after-market open air cooled 980's to make a point.

Sadly, even some people here still think that non-reference Hawaii cards run loud.

Looking at the temperature Asus had listed for the "Reference 290x" most people would be happy if it ran at 80c. That temp should say 95c since all of the reference cards had a fan cap from the BIOS which most certainly pegged at 95c.

Those marketing slides compare apples to oranges every time though. Asus's was just an even worse attempt.

Or to a previous after-market cooler of their own, like MSI did. Asus' slide looks both like it's imitating MSI and like it's misleading.

Hahah, yea similar indeed...but,

Car commercials always show their vehicles on windy roads, driving fast, climbing hills etc...very similar marketing.

Aw come on, this would be equivalent to a non-Chevy slogan being "like a stone."
