ok, I am about to break down and buy the GF a laptop she has been whining for...

Looking at the asus m3000, it seems to have the right combination of things (P-M, 5lbs, 1.2") Only one thing left to check:

Does anyone know anything about Asus notebook reliability / service quality?
 
Well, I don't own one nor do I know anyone that does (or any reseller that sells them) but the laptop does look neat. I'm not sure on Asus's service quality though.

I would seriously look into this laptop if I were you. Anyone that played around with this laptop, feel free to post ur review here. I'd curious too. Little is said 'bout this lappy.
