HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

$200? It doesn't even have the integrated video, or IDE RAID! oooooo.... two ethernet ports. WOWWWW. Not to mention you still have to go out and get another stick of ram to really take advantage of it. what a joke.

i bought it from atacom for $150 yesterday. yes, it's a bit over the top, but i'm impatient and all my other parts minus the cpu have been sitting in the living room for 3 weeks :(

Leave it to Asus to overprice their boards. I hope more manufacturers come out with nForce2 boards and nVidia cuts them a deal.

Man who the hell does Asus think they are foolin here??? I'd rather wait for a cheaper mobo with no buggies and use that saved money for another hard drive or something...

And I sure as hell ain't putting a leadtek mobo in my setup.... you all should do yourselves a big favor and be patient for some better solutions... I'm waiting for Anandtech to give a good recommendation on a board.

hmmm

asus mobo has been top notch over the years.. and their price was similar to their performance...

but newegg knows when the product is considered 'HOT' and they up the price like jackass..

you'll see that by 'amd cpu prices' ... one day it's posted here at $xx .. and couple hours later, they up the price..

i'd blame newegg for $200 price on "Limited supply of HOT item' ..

Yeah Monarch will have them on Friday and it is only 149 for the delux.

You would be nuts to get it from newegg.....

I would call this cold as a Glacier.

Yeps, This is Neweggs fault not Asus. They are buying into the hype. Or should I say selling into the hype.

Ok.... questions: which would you folks recommend, the nforce2 or the kt400 (MSI KT Ultra FISR)?

Yea Googlegear has the Asus Board earlier at $145 compared to Newegg at $200, haha what a joke, Newegg is slowly slipping into " I am the best so I can charge what I want" crap....thank god for competition to keep Companies like Newegg from resting on their Laurels.

well, if you read, newegg has it for $150 now. And if you really were keeping tabs on this board, you'd be an idiot to pay $200 for it... either that, or just extremely loyal to newegg.

I'm only slightly idiotic.... i just couldn't wait one day to buy a whole bunch of stuff from newegg... so my board won't be in till next week :(

Hey guys and gals, that $200 was a pre-stock price...I'd assume that they didn't know until the last minute how much they were going to be selling for so they advertised it at $200. They shouldn't have displayed a price at all if they didn't know though. Now if they took preorders at that price and sell it for $150 the minute they get it in stock and don't adjust the preorders' price then that's not cool.

Did anyone actually preorder when the $200 price was posted?

I'm sure if someone ordered this morning newegg would reduce the price for you. Otherwise you could simply return it and buy it again, or just return it and buy it somewhere else.

Tom's Hardware has a review of three nforce2 boards up and one of them is the Asus A7N8X board. Review Here. It looks like it's the best board to buy at the moment if you're in the market for one.

I just bought a KT333 board like a month ago. I think I'll buy a better video card before another motherboard.

Why not just go for the Asus A7V8X (KT400 chipset) motherboard? One less lan connection and no firewire, but the price is $31.00 less. The performance of the nForce2 doesn't seem significantly better than the KT400 boards. Plus, the nForce2 boards are supposed to have some current issues with running Linux. It seems that waiting a while longer on the nForce2 boards to mature a little bit might be the best option.

That Asus nforce2 board is worth no more than $110. It will move that low in a while when other competition moves in. Add video and it might be worth $130.
