Newegg has great prices and great customer service. If you need cooling parts, I recomend frozencpu.com. The retail cooler is pretty good though. If your doing OC'ing make sure to get Arctic Silver 3.

5) Gainward 'Golden Sample' 4600 retail.... ATACOM: $439.95
$439!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me! At newegg.com the same card is $318. ATACOM has ridiculous prices according to your post.

For the motherboard, what makes you want to buy an ASUS? The Gigabyte GA-8IHXP is awesome and many more features than an ASUS 850E motherboard. Make sure you get an 850E motherboard with at least 512MB (no need right now for more) Kingston PC1066. My brothers rig (check my sig) is about as fast as it gets (14000+ 3dmarks).

Krk3561, fkloster's prices are from April, and he simply copy/pasted the info from the thread he linked to. He is proud of his purchase. :)

Why Gigabyte? It doesn't have an agp/pci lock or allow cpu core voltage past 1.7v TTBOMK. Don't get me wrong, it sounds like a nice board, but everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Flick one switch & you're running at 180mhz then go to 150mhz & your ram is running at 200mhz.

Officialy it only says pc2100 but I know better.

For a 1.8A, what about the p4s533? Has gotten some great reviews, overclocks well, and can be had for $116 at newegg.

If you dont plan on going over 140-150mhz Fsb then it's a good board & it's got good mem ratios, but the lack of a agp/pci lock will hurt it if you are planning on a high fsb overclock.

I'd wait a few days and get the newest Asus mobo coming out, the ASUS P4S8X. It's got the newest SIS chipset, the SIS 648, which has over 1GB / sec bandwidth, support for DDR333 (and upcoming DDR400 support unofficially) USB 2.0 support, 1394, onboard LAN, Serial ATA (also ATA 100/133 support) and AGP 8x support. It's going to be one bad @ss board. Here's a few linkies:

If you want to OC just get a refurb 845D/E/G chip mobo. (agp/PCI clock lock, just in case you running odd FSB speed)

I second Bacamojo's point - wait a few days and go for the gold - the P4S8X. It will probably hit the street next week or the week after. I am waiting for it. :)

I assume you are referring to the P4T533. It is a finicky board, but when you get it set up properly you are in for a treat. Unfortunately I sold my P4T533-R last week. :(

I think its finicky for high OCs over the 133MHZ range (like 160MHZ) FSB. So far in the couple hours Ive been running mine, it has ran like a dream, super easy to setup, and running my P4 2.4A at 2760 at default voltage and I havent even tried to push it yet.Im very pleased.. :) Thanks for the sweet board John :)
