Question Asus LPT header

I have an Asus Pro w680 motherboard that has a LPT header onboard. I tried attaching a parallel port bracket from an old computer. It would not fit. The 26 pin socket (25 active) was way larger than than the 25 pin array on the motherboard.
The 25 pin header on the motherboard looks like a miniaturized version.
I just spent the last hour searching for something that would fit.
Does Asus or anyone make a miniaturized parallel port bracket that fits this header?

I don't know what will work and what won't...but a simple google search for "26 pin LPT" brings a ton of suggestions, such as this:

That is the same as I already have and what I also found on the web. The connector is too large to fit on the header on the motherboard.

Well, that was an experience.
Located the serial number and opened an account with Asus.
Had an online chat with someone that had no idea what the LPT header was. He came back and told me it was for a printer cable. Told me that I needed a 1284 cable.
Tried to tell him I needed a connector that connected to the onboard header and to another connector on the back panel of the computer.
Tried to explain that I had connectors for original LPT headers on motherboards, but that the header on this board seems to be a miniaturized version.
All the connectors and brackets I located online seem to be the same as what i have.
I must be getting old. LPT ports were a common item. Guess Ill try a USB to LPT cable and see it it works. I have an older 11 x 17 printer that I use to print smaller drawings.

Turns out that Asus and other board makers have put LPT headers on their boards in recent times. The original headers were 2.54mm pitch on pins. I have a number of these connectors and brackets. These are what you see for sale.
The headers on the boards are 2.00mm pitch. The connectors and brackets are nowhere to be found.
Why does Asus bother to put these headers on the boards when they are useless.

I'm surprised that a current motherboard even has an LPT header. ASUS probably has a part number, if you get in contact with a sales rep who knows what the hell he's talking about.

Apparently, MSI used the same mini IDC26 connection over 10 years ago, and it was hard to source then. It seems all but impossible now, but here's an old reference:

It wouldn't surprise me if it's cheaper and easier to get a PCIE parallel card.

I logged in again a week or so ago and chatted with someone who understood what I was talking about. He passed on the information and stated that I would hear back in 24 to 48 hours.
I just received an email. It basically said that if parts were missing, take it up with the seller, which is ironic, since I bought it from the Asus store.
Looks like I'm SOL. Asus has a header on their board that can only be used with a non-existent part.

Just to follow up on this.
I had an online chat with Asus and explained the situation that there were no cables to connect to the 2.0mm pitch LPT header on the motherboard and to a connector on the backplane. He said he understood and bumped me up to another level and told me to stay online. Nobody came on. I chalked it up to wasted effort. A week ago I got an email from Asus telling me they were going to ship a part as soon as it came in. Today I received a shoebox size package from Asus. Inside wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and other packaging was a motherboard header, the type of header soldered onto the motherboard.
Again, I don't know why they bother.

I went back down this rabbit hole, and a vendor in the UK claims to have the part in stock.

I don't know if they are legit (really, they have 75 of these when nobody else in the world has any?), or whether they even ship internationally. Even MSI themselves didn't have any of these 12 years ago! 🤷‍♂️

That must've been a frustrating experience. They thought that the header on your motherboard was dead and they just sent a replacement LOL.
