reddit user was noticing some performance hitches and went deepdive into the bios/firmware. it is a horrific mess.

the hardware is requesting status checks every few microseconds, shuting down and turning on the gpu repeatedly, even setting improper configs resulting in bluescreen.

the code violates all kinds of best practices or just common sense practices.

ASUS knows. They’ve been quietly patching around the edges (newer BIOS/firmware versions throttle down the polling or mask it), but they've never publicly admitted the scope. Which is why you get people in 2025 still running into "WTF is wrong with my new ASUS" posts, not realizing it’s a 3+ year old systemic issue.
