folks,
i'm new to this forum, but you guys seem to be very knowledgeable. i just got an AMD64 3200+ DTR. after a lot of shipping stuff back and forth, i finally got Asus to send me a mobo (K8V SE Deluxe) with the 1004 BIOS.
the board finally powers up, but with the following problems:
1. CPU voltage out of range... VCore at 1.1 (i believe it should be 1.5)
2. CPU locked at 800MHz
3. my ATI Radeon 9700Pro is not recognized (i'm using an old geforce that works fine)
for the 3rd one, Asus says i need to upgrade the firmware on the video card... which i can try. however, for the first two probs, they say that it is my power supply. i have a new chassis with a 420W raidmax power supply. i doubt if that is the problem.
any suggestions? i read somewhere that the Asus 1004 BIOS has problems. should i downgrade to 1003? i've never had so many probs building a computer before. any help will be much appreciated.
