I wanted to thank all of you out there who can provide suggestions to my problem. The ASUS K7V mb does not recognize the Seagate st3160023as sata drive plugged in either in sata slot 1 or 2 thru cable. installed new via raid drivers and promise sata drivers from asus cd and new via raid driver from asus website. Seagate software recog that sata drive exist but mb does not on boot up. Pls help since I think physically there is nothing wrong with physical sata drive it is just Bill Gates and VIA guys who are retarded.

I'll guess you meant the Asus K8V that has its native VIA SATA controller in its southbridge. The motherboard's manual has a section devoted to getting that set up. You must enter the VIA SATA controller's BIOS (which is not the motherboard's main BIOS, but a separate one) and have it identify the drives. You may also need to enable the OnChip SATA Boot ROM, which is a setting found in the Advanced section of the motherboard's own BIOS.
