No beeps on boot, no piccy. HD light is on Mobo light is on. HD spins up and then stops. Fan is on. Monitor light comes on then just blinks at me.
All seems well, but it obviously aint. Any ideas please?

Make sure you plugged in the 4 pin power connector, be sure the cpu fan is attached to the cpu mobo header, and reseat a single stick of ram, reseat vid card.

If you have a monitor with both analog and digital connections and have it hooked to dvi switch it to analog.

@fredtam
17" Proview. This graphics card and monitor are working now with my amd 1700+

@jmagg

Done all that. Any chance it could be the cpu?

When I first hooked my 191t up with my 9800 to my new system it would not display anything. Not a "no video signal" just a black screen. Hooked both up to my old system and everything was fine. Put it back in the new and nothing. Switched to analog and bam there it was. Loaded everything and switched back to dvi and haven't had a problem since. There may also be an input selection button on the monitor. Mine uses the exit button. It may not help but I had the same problem and that was the solution.

Do you have a stray standoff shorting the board?

Try substituting a known good power supply?

You could try reseating the cpu, as well as pulling the mobo battery for a few minutes.
Also try 1 stick of ram in all slots.

Thanks for all the advice. I have tried everything and still no luck. Latest attempt is all out of case. 1 stick of ram 1 AGP card and cpu and heat sink. No beeps nothing. I suppose this means the cpu is fooked.
