Keep this in mind from that UK 7850 overclocking thread:

With error correcting memory, faster is not always better. You will reach a point of re-transmissions and performance degrades before you reach a point where you see artifacts / crashes.

Interesting point to keep in mind.

I'm seeing what the memory on my 7850 can do. 3dMark11 graphics score increases with frequency in the ranges 1200-1250MHz and 1255-1340MHz. BUT going from 1250MHz to 1255Mhz the score plunges (to ~ the score for 1210MHz). Related?

Goliath online!

Systems functional!

Comlink online!

Channel open!

Acknowledged H.Q.
(high beep) Nav-comm locked.
Confirmed.
Target designated.

Ah I think I played too much SC1 all those years ago. However, you could always replay these lines in your mind as you walk around the computer store acquiring components to purchase, especially at the big places like Fry's or Microcenter, lots of targets to designate and purchase

Me :(

Where the big scores at Don? No MVP though now, now. :|

Heyyyy, is that 9.2k PhysX score at 4.6GHz? GD that's really impressive might actually be faster than a 5GHz Sandy!

Dude i found a flaw with my Biostar Z77. My onboard NIC died

And yes that physics score is at 4.5ghz

Hey Don where did you get that badass heatsink from for the 7850? How much was it? I need better cooling on my card; it's hitting 83C under full load overclocked.

They seem to be around $60 where I live. If you know of a place that has them on sale I would appreciate it.

Got mine on amazon for 74.99. They price matched frozencpu

lol it has no internet?

How does it OC compared to the MaxVGene?

The onboard NIC is dead so i had to bust out an old NIC card and the Biostar actually needed less voltage for the same speeds. I was in shock

Hey Don do you know how to bios mod these cards so that we can have them overclocked without needing software?

I also would like to unlock the voltage up to 1.3v.

Bro download Gpu tweak 2.0.6. It has the extended range of voltage. The newest version lowered the range

I wonder if your cooling is making the difference or if you just got lucky. Mine will only hit 1150mhz.

We'll see if I can hit 1250mhz as well now that I have better cooling.
I have a feeling that the Asus cards are of a higher quality and will allow higher overclocks.
