asus geforce 2 mx on a ax59 pro motherbord

I just bought asus geforce 2 mx v 7100 that is runnin on a ax 59 pro board. But, it wont work, after about 5min on, it hangs up, and when i try to restart nothing happends, no signals to the monitor. It's not the drivers or windows, because it also happened in dos😀

I had GF2MX with that board and it worked pretty fine (no lockups). Maybe your videocard is overheating ? Does 3D graphics under windows are disorting the soundcard's output ? (I had that problem caused by weak AGP shielding) It's also possible that your mobo can't handle GF's power consumtion...

if it is the mobo that isnt providing enough power, is there anything i can do, or do i have to buy a new mobo?😕

If mobo cannot power the videocard, there's nothing you can do about it (either try another V-card or mobo). I've read somewhere that GF2MX should need only 4 watts but i'm not sure that it's right. Nvidia's v-cards on SS7 platvorm are sometimes real pain in the a**, you will be much happier with 3Dfx-ones on that. Your problem may also be related with AGP compability: AFAIK officially all new Nvidia v-cards requie AGP 2.0-compatible chipset, but VIA MVP3 is only AGP 1.0 compatible.

i dondt know what version it is, i only found a this on the board: aopen ax59 pro 99804, and its the newest bios

Damn, I don't have that mobo near-by anymore 🙁 There were some important fixes in revision newer than 2.20...

I have heard that is should be posible to increase the I/O voltage on the mobo, does anyone know how i do that?
