Asus 'Gamers Ed' 6800 or Asus 6800GT...

Just looking over these two cards. Why only these two? I don't see any other manufacturer of these damn 6800s between where I am (Niagara Falls Canadian side), around Buffalo or up around Toronto.

The Asus Gamer Edition 6800

The Asus 6800GT...with half the memory?

Everything I've peeked at pretty much shows the GTs a fair bit ahead of the non GT branded cards. The damn 128 megs makes me wonder. I thought the Gamers Ed card was a GT then I looked again and, well, it's not. Have to admit, the 128 meg Asus 6800GT is looking nice that I noticed the fact it's selling for $459. The 'Gamer Edition' which is "over 25% faster than other competitors with 6800GPU" is $559.

So right now I sit here with an Ebay auction planned out for my Asus 9800XT card wondering. The fact that by this time next year we'll probably get flooded with PCIe stuff all over the place (I assume AMD mobos will use it by then) so an AGP card isn't going to do much when it comes time to upgrade the system. I guess I can hold off making an auction for a day or so but this new info tidbit is bugging the hell out of me.

Neither. the differences between these cards and your 9800xt will IMO be negligible. Particularly in the 'only' game that is going to count.

Hmm. What about any other brands of 6800s? I forgot to check out the store that I actually picked up the 9800XT from a year ago and they're selling the BFG 6800GT (who the heck is BFG?) and XTX 6800GT, both with 256 megs and both are about $40 more then that Gamers Edition. Pretty much in the same boat when compared to the Asus 9800XT? Not enough bang to warrent the bucks?

hahah BFG is a very popular brand and it's xfx. Gamers edition is a 6800 with fast ram. Asus GT is a GT with slow ram.... If you can unlock the pipes with the gamers edition it would be a very nice card indeed. The Asus GT is just meh.

From my once over the new tweaks with Rivatuner are hit and miss, and somebody was saying that Asus 6800 wasn't too tweak friendly with it?
