Just letting people know that ASUS has finally released new FW drivers for their nvidia cards. Download it here

If you have had problems overclocking your ASUS cards with the 6*.** drivers before, please reply back and let me know if these new driver sets from ASUS fix the problem..

I'm also curious why ASUS decided to release the 61.21 drivers and not the newer 61.76..

I`m curious why you don`t stick with the official Nvidia reference drivers(61.76) as well?

Well, there has been a bug affecting all ASUS FX series cards. When the card is overclocked, performance drops by more than 300%. I have not seen this topic discussed here, but many people from other forums say it is a driver problem and that ASUS was in the process of fixing it.

Many say the reason for this bug is that ASUS cards don't have the 2D/3D tab that most FX series cards have, and there are various incompatibilities with the card and the reference drivers.

I just installed these drivers and I can say the bug is still not fixed.. overclocking with coolbits still results in 300% drop in performance, and with the new smartdoctor tool, the "smart overclocking" only allows a 5mhz overclock... (it was 50mhz before) and any increase in memory clock results in poor performance..

hmm how could you drop that much? You would be in the negative frames if you dropped by 300% wouldyou not?
I suggest you try the latest Nvidia drivers and try again.

hmm I'm surprised that noone in these forums heard of this bug

300% drop is relative to the gain from the overclock your supposed to get.. if 50mhz OC = +5fps then a 300% drop would result in a -15fps if you want to be so technical

This problem affects all asus fx5900 cards, if you haven't read my previous post, the latest nvidia drivers are the source of this problem!
