ASUS fast writes ??

Hey, I have a quick question. I cant seem to find how to disable fast writes on my ASUS A8v Deluxe board. Everytime I try and play HL2, it crashes and I have to disconnect the power cord to reset the pc. It is a new card(bfg 6800gt) and I have tried diffrent drivers. I have spent a lot of time in BIOS looking for fast writes........ Can anyone help??
 
Are you sure it's fast writes? I have the same MB and Video card and haven't had it crash in HL2 (or any other game for that matter) with fast writes enabled. What version of the BIOS are you running?
 
Are you guys sure that PCI-E even has a thing called Fast Writes? Even if it does, I never saw it do any good, especially on nForce platform. Seems like it's more for Intel based boards...

no, I am not sure.... I have no clue why it is doing this. I am just trying to fix it. I just have the BIOS that came with the board.


Anyone esle have any ideas?
 
Download riva tuner tweaker and in the settings it has a disable fast writes it then ask you to resart and it changes the bios for you!
