Asus Extreme N6600GT

Okay I am definitely going to be purchasing two 6600GT's within the next 2 weeks time. I am currently loving everything about the Asus card, but the only downfall is its so expensive compared to the competition. But after reading a review on it from Legion Hardware, I think I am convinced I may spend the extra money on one, but still haven't decided fully yet.

The quality on the Asus card is far superior to that of any of the other 6600GT's I have seen, and according to the review, it also overclocks the best with its nice copper heatsinks on the GPU and RAM. 85Mhz core clock/220Mhz memory clock over stock.

Can you people with 6600GT's please comment on your opinions on whether or not this is good. Also if you have overclocked can you please post your speeds along with which card you own. Thanks

Don't waste your money on two 6600s when you can get a single 6800GT that performs better and leaves you the option to add another down the road.

And a single Asus 6600GT is $229, while a 6800GT is about $500. I'd eat the extra $40 for the upgradability or just wait for prices on the PCIe 6800GT to drop to MSRP ($400).

If you're going to get a 6600gt, don't pay any more than $180. Overclocking this thing a few more MHz isn't worth the extra $50, not even close.

You are probably right. But anyway I have found the eVGA card for $180 so I guess paying $360 for 2 6600GT's is definately better than paying $500 for a single 6800GT.

I notice everyone keeps saying get the 6800 GT, but to me it's not worth it anymore since they upped the price $100. The only time the 6800 GT outperforms dual 6600GT's is when you enable 4x AA and 8x AF, otherwise there is no gains with the 6800 GT. It's a large price to pay, for a little eye candy boost that you will gain.
