ASUS dvd

I think Asus drives are decent, quality drives, but why not go with a Lite-on DVD-ROM or a combo drive like YF mentioned?

Asus's current DVD roms are just rebaged Pioneer 121's w/ different firmware they work very well except for DVD extraction speed is a bit slow unless you get modded firmware. I just replaced a failed Lite-on LTD 163D w/ an Asus DVD rom seems to be working well and I have better luck reading copy protected CD's w/ it for some reason.

Asus is great with motherboards, but when it comes to optical drives, I'd go with a brand well-known in that area. (plextor, pioneer, lite-on, NEC)
