Asus Digital Video/Asus V8200T2 Deluxe not working

Help. I recently built a new system. I have a Asus p4tE motherboard, 1.7gig Intel P4 cpu, 512Rdram. I selected the Asus V8200t2 Deluxe video card. I thought the extra options would be good.
I cannot get the Asus Digital VCR software to work properly. I installed all the new software. Asus's web site has not been helpful.
The error message I get once I launch the program is "cannot launch capture driver"

Sounds like your WDM drivers, here is a thread I found that may help. I don't have much experience with nVidia cards, but if its capture problems, probably WDM drivers.

Go here and download the "WDM Driver (Personal Cinema)". That's what I do for my Asus V8200 Deluxe. I also install the nVidia drivers, not the ones on the Asus disc.

EDIT: The link I gave is for the Windows 2000/WinXP drivers. If you are using WinME/Win98, select the different OS from the drop down menu on the top of the page I linked.

Thanks for the help. I will look at the threads. I was able to install the "other Digital VCR" from the Asus Disk. The initial one I was attempting to install did use the WDM drivers. The one that is functioning does not have WDM but VFW. What is the difference between VFW and WDM Digital VCR?

Uninstall your Asus VGA drivers. Reboot. Install the ones from the nVidia site. Reboot. Then install the WDM Capture drivers (Personal Cinema) from nVidia's website as well. Reboot. Install Asus Digital VCR 2.1, found here.

That's what I do with my V8200 Deluxe and works everytime.

what is your operating system. I have a V7700 deluxe and everything works fine with win98se but it wont work with winXP Pro!!!

I have the v7700 Deluxe, but I don't use the Digital VCR. Once you install it, all the video capture you will be doing, even in other programs, will be made using the ASUS codecs, which are not bad, but not the best. Also, the damn VCR will load at startup every time and will just sit in your tray. I had to use TweakMe to unload it.

In my experience, I prefer to use Ulead's video capture, or even Premiere - the card's VIVO functions will be just fine even if Digital VCR isn't loaded.
