asus cuv4x....anyone have it? did they enable 4 way memroy interleaving and.....

Did they enable 4 way memory interleaving like they did with the p3v4x? Is it a solid mobo?
Do you think a fcpga would run more stable in one then it would in a slot one with a slocket card?

Well since no one wants to give you their two cents I'll try to give you a nickel. First off I've never been able to find 4 way interleaving in my P3V4X BIOS. Secondly I'm running a PIII 667 Flip chip in an Iwill Slocket II with no problems. I was using the ASUS S370-133 adapter (you figure you got an ASUS board why chance any issues by using a generic or different adapter) well I got some illegal operation windows in Explorer that a tech at ASUS told me that there was an issue with that adapter with only the P3V4X and that they were going to come out with a replacement adapter card in a month. (This was about three weeks ago). Well I couldn't wait that long so I got the Iwill Slocket II and then my modem started to disconnect. Before messing with the modem I went back to the ASUS adapter and everything was OK. I re installed the Iwill and made sure that it was seated this time and I haven't had a more stable system in the last three weeks in some time. After fighting with a P3C2000/820 chip set for FIVE weeks I was ready to USE my computer rather than work on it.
I don't think many people have really had a chance to get the CUV4X up and running as they just got on the market recently but I've been waiting to hear some feedback in case I want to get a board that doesn't need an adapter. But for now I'm happy. By the way if you get a P3V4X stay away from the 4X AGP in the 4.20 drivers and use the one for AGP in the 4.17(the CD with the board) or the new 4.02.

The CV4X is so new that you should wait awhile until we have had more info & reviews of this board .In general only small amount of people get problems with slocket converters,so having a socket board does away with this problem.

I dont have a P3V4X but the Soyo 6VBA 133 - (3) of them, with 4 way memory, the sis sandra benchmark went up almost 25% but still 10-15% slower then BX. Your 133A probably be as good as a BX.


I didn't have the option till I flash to the new bios so maybe if you guys flash your bios, you should receive the option ithe BIOS..

My P3V4X came with the 1003 BIOS which was the most current at the time. The 1004 came out and I waited to see what would happen and suddenly ASUS removes it after everyone seemed to have problems with it. What BIOS has 4 way interleaving?

It appears I am at an impasse.....I have a bf-6 and a 650e cbo........................I guess I am just looking for the perfect mobo....but I am really hesitant to try out the VIA chipset...................................hmm..............I just may get an asus cubx(the only thing I hate about that is the crappy fsb selections)

I had a CUV4X for a week, but i got boot problems trying to overclock my Celeron 566. btw i got the same problems with the CUBX. I returned then and i now in the process of buying a abit BM6. In the mean time i'm using a converter in a Soltek board and the cpu is even willing to run 952 !

Memory interleaving is sort of doing RAID setup on the memory.

That's a very vaque explanation of course, but I know nothing more.

Someone posted about memory interleaving a while back ago,
but looks like it's been deleted.. did a search and didn't come up with anything.

i just went to install my brand new cuv4x today. went with Asus cause i have had good luck in the past. Powered-up 4 first time and board started smoking/melting. UGH!

when i first bootup on this board it takes a couple seconds (usually about 5sec) for the monitor to detect a video signal. i have a Samsung 900NF.

can anyone relate to this or offer advise?
