I think he's under the impression that you're assigning IP addresses. I think you should explicitly state what DHCP is, but don't mention DHCP because that might confuse him.
 
You actually received an e-mail back from them? When I sent them e-mails for my dead motherboard I never, ever, received anything back from them. Consider yourself lucky. Oh and you could always call their US Tech Support number.

Worst support i ever had was from Promise though. I had a problem with one of the IDE Raid cards (this was years ago), and i couldn't contact them whatsoever. The phone number sent me to a voicemail, and i left a dozen voicemail. I sent them even more emails, and they never responded.
